Poem Histories

1) The first poem, LAMENT FOR A HERO,  was written during the period of time (2009-2010), when the City of Fall River, Massachusetts lost five Hometown Heros. The tragedy within the city was palpable, which shows in the poem.

2) The second poem FAMILIES OF HEROES was written a couple of years ago when I experienced the grief of the family of a young solder who had died for our freedom. I realised at that point that they were as much victims of his death as he was.

3) The third poem, Heroes, was written when I learned that Alex Jiminez, from Lawrence, MA was captured in Iraq, and his condition wasw unknown. A framed copy was presented to his Dad.

4) The fourth poem, For The Families, was an attempt to give some comfort to the families of the fallen, and to let them know that other people cared about their loss.

Look on the links page.

This video will only be up for a short time, and is a tribute to my Dad who was the inspiration for the title poem of the book.  The sincere thanks of my entire extended family goes out to the Patriot Guard Riders for their presence to Honor Dad at his Funeral.

Rest in Peace, Dad!
